Punta Coral Day Trip

In Puntarenas you will board the world famous yacht Calypso. A yacht gleaming with varnished hardwoods and polished brass. The duration of the trip to Puntarenas is approx. 1½ hour.

Punta Coral Private Reserve

Accessible only by boat, Punta Coral is the most Eastern tip of the Peninsula of Nicoya. Located in front of the Islas Negritos Biological Reserve ( a pre-Columbian Indian burial ground), this privately owned point of dry tropical forest has a quiet beach and a valley filled with flowering plants on one side and interesting rock formations and numerous caves on the other.

Spend the late morning walking on nature trails. Many varieties of trees and interesting plants are labeled. The ocean view is spectacular. There are numerous fruit trees on the property which provide food for the wild native animals of the area. Troops of black-faced howler monkeys, yellow nape Amazon parrots, a variety of humming birds and butterflies are home to this special place.

After lunch, you can even explore more nature by sea kayak, take a refreshing swim in the calm bay or simply relax in a hammock. Nature trails, excellent food, kayaks, great swimming and snorkeling possibilities are the base for Calypso’s “Private Reserve Cruise” to the Punta Coral Private Reserve.
